Aging

While some of you may have seen this photo of mine, I couldn't resist a re-post. Besides the fact that it's one of my favorites, it just fit Carly's theme for "The Old Place" too perfectly! You can check out the other Round Robin Entries for this challenge here.

This photo was taken in an area of Italy called Paestum. It's about 1 and 1/2 hours from Naples by Train, and is called, "The Greek Temples of Paestum". The structures, like this one, date back to 500 BC! (Boy, they could really build'em back then, huh?)

I was taken with this scene, particularly because I was able to capture some elderly people taking a break, seated on some elderly "benches", viewing some elderly buildings.

I'd say this qualifies for the challenge, wouldn't you?? : )

I remember this one. Great then and great now.

Is there anything you'd do differently now? When I look at some of my old favorites, I start thinking, if I knew then what I know now (or had the equipment I have now!)....

They sure could build them! I love the old sturcture being viewed by the old sitting on old benches. Taht is too funny! Thanks for the laugh.

Love to be sitting there eating a nice panino with prosciutto e formaggio for lunch and wash it down with a cool chinotto.

Great picture!

Oh, that's fabulous, especially in closeup! Isn't it amazing that at least part of that building still stands after over 2000 years, and other buildings don't l00k that good after 200 years, or even 20? Your shot is also a great reminder that the Romans left a lot more behind than just the city of Rome.

I have been reading about the building of the temples during the Roman and Greek era. Actually I should say building for official state government. The photo including the people there enjoying it is well done. mark/salty
